Fees
The amount and the falling due of lawyer’s fees is basically regulated in the „law about the compensation for lawyers“ (Rechtsanwaltsvergütungsgesetz, RVG). The RVG states which fees are due for each activity of a lawyer.
The RVG is applicable as long as no other regulation has been agreed upon between the client and the lawyer in cases where this is allowed.
Frequently however, the RVG does not lead to appropriate results for either the client or the lawyer. We are therefore usually willing to agree upon a different fee regulation as long as this is legally allowed. For extra-forensic matters we generally accept hourly fees or a predefined flat rate.
We regularly inform our clients about the possible amount of fees before taking over the case, in order for our clients to know what to expect. Of course this information is free of charge if we do not take over the case in the end.
